The Somali Medical Association (SMA)

is a voluntary professional organization that was established in 1999 to serve Somali medical doctors who are currently practicing. It is a non-governmental, non-profit organization that operates independently under the laws of Somalia, and boasts a membership of over 3,000 individuals across the country. The Somali Medical Association (SMA) is committed to improving the overall health and the broader community in Somalia. To achieve this goal, the SMA focuses on enhancing the ability of medical professionals to take decisive action through advocacy, information dissemination, and the provision of healthcare services.
